Earth 2.0
A school-based challenge where teams design and construct sustainable eco-worlds from scratch — integrating STEM, sustainability, ethics, leadership and teamwork for visionary, real-world learning.
Earth 2.0
Earth 2.0 empowers students to design and build sustainable worlds from the ground up, focusing on eco-systems, ethical choices and collaborative construction. Teams blend STEM innovation with ethical sustainability in curriculum-aligned projects that foster global stewards.
The programme runs in three stages — design, build and present — and is scalable for whole-school delivery, with low student-to-staff ratios for under-18s. It aligns with environmental science standards and ends with a showcase where teams present and defend their worlds.
From concept to reality
Three stages that take students from a blank page to a defended, working mission.

Design
Students brainstorm innovative solutions, research ecosystems, sketch eco-world blueprints and plan sustainable systems like renewable energy and water recycling.

Build
Teams construct scale models using everyday materials and 3D printing — assembling greenhouses, living quarters and infrastructure while applying engineering principles.

Present
Teams showcase their eco-worlds through presentations and virtual simulations, explaining designs and demonstrating prototypes to peers, mentors and astronauts.
What students build
- Design — brainstorm innovative solutions for sustainable living, research ecosystems, sketch eco-world blueprints and plan systems like renewable energy, water recycling and biodiversity
- Build — construct scale models using everyday materials and 3D printing, assembling greenhouses, living quarters and infrastructure while applying engineering principles
- Present — showcase the eco-world through engaging presentations and virtual simulations, explaining designs, demonstrating prototypes and discussing real-world applications
- Defend the world in a showcase to astronauts, engineers and peers
Outcomes
- Elevated STEM learning — from-scratch design boosts critical thinking and retention
- Embedded leadership, presentation and teamwork in every world-building phase
- Sustainability literacy, with students tackling real issues like renewable energy and biodiversity
- A signed NASA astronaut completion certificate and a tangible eco-world portfolio
